I have two Creality brand 3D printers in my studio. The first is the K1C with a 220 x 220 x 250 (XYZ) build area. The second is the K2Plus (K2+) with 350 x 350 x 350 build volume.
The K1C is the baby brother to the K2+, but a very good baby brother.
No sales presentation here. If you want to know more about their features, follow this <LINK> to the K2+. From there you can also find the K1C.
I am having great output quality results form both these fully enclosed 3D FDM (filament) printer systems.
I do not (yet) have the CFS filament change system for the K2+. I ordered the CFS with the printer but there is a six week shipping delay. I have about three more weeks of waiting.
The original first shipments of the K2+ included the CFS packaged within the printer. My order was not this original bundle, so must wait for the second production run of the CFS. Expected end of January 2025.
The only real problems I have experienced is with the slicing software, Creality Print. It’s probably a clone of the Orcha Slicer or Bamboo Labs slicer, so has good roots. Functionally it gets the job done. I have experienced communication (WiFi) issues and screen graphic display issues on my WIN11 PC. The new release 6.xxx is very “flakey” and seems unstable.
The Creality forum also contains a lot of complaints about the 6.xxx slicer. But that is not unusual for new releases.
I also run the Creality Print on my MAC computer. Not in release 6.xxx yet. It is several versions behind the WIN11 version, but does get the job done well enough.
I believe slicer issues will eventually get fixed in future upgrades. They are annoying but no game stoppers for recommending these printers. The adventurous are free to play with Orcha or other slicers.
The tall blue vase has been printed in the K2+ and is 25CM tall. At the max limit for the K1C. Too close for my comfort in the K1C but no issue with The K2+.
Three main reasons I obtained the K2+. Build volume and ability for automatic CFS filament change. With the CFS I can finish a low volume content spool and auto switch to the new spool in mid print. Also auto change filament for making multicolor prints.
